Biodynamic Massage in Portland, OR

This modality combines massage and craniosacral therapy. Angie’s massage style is influenced by her background in Hawaiian Lomilomi Masssage and Neuromuscular Therapy. During biodynamic massage, Angie connects to your body with attuned presence so she can feel into the precise pressure that is needed, both subtle and deep, to unwind tension and induce deep states of relaxation. She encourages her clients to co-create the session by giving feedback about the amount of pressure that feels just right. This type of bodywork is patient, allowing for long holds to give the body time to release. After reducing knots and adhesions in the tissues, we use long, full body massage strokes to connect these newly relaxed parts of your body back into the whole of your being.

Who This Work Helps

Biodynamic massage may support:

• chronic stress and nervous system overload
• muscular tension and postural strain
• chronic pain and restricted fascia
• recovery from physical training or injury
• athletes seeking recovery and improved performance
• headaches and neck or shoulder tension
• people feeling disconnected from their body
• anyone seeking deeper relaxation and restoration

What Happens During a Session

• sessions are typically done with the client undressed to their comfort level and professionally draped
• hands-on work engages muscles and fascia (connective tissues) through attentive touch
• pressure and movement follow the natural responses of the body’s tissues rather than applying a fixed routine
• moments of stillness may arise during the session as the body reorganizes and releases held tension
• the nervous system settles as circulation, breath, and tissue mobility improve
